A Party Animal

The end of the preschool year brought a weekend of birthday parties for Blackburn’s friends.  He was so excited about the back to back parties a couple of Saturdays ago.  One was a pirate themed party with water balloons and a treasure hunt.  The other was a bowling party.  Both parties had piñatas filled with candy!

5K Snapshots

I posted Ben and the girls with their medals last week.  Here are some more pictures from the 5K race.

(8) After the race, Isabella, Vita and Ainsley had to play in a soccer game.  (9)The next day they wore their race shirts, medals and had an ice cream party at school.

I am so proud of them.  Not only did they run in amazing times for their ages. They were both under 32 minutes but they also ran at their own paces (even if that meant not running with friends).  I am also proud that they are not afraid to try new things and have the confidence to run these types of races.  I never hear them say they can’t do it and that is an awesome way to approach life.

Fasching

It started Friday with the kids parading around the neighborhood and displaying their masks.  Then on Saturday we officially celebrated Fasching at the kids’ school.  It was another year of fun and games.  The day was full with friends, prizes and laughter.

All is right with the world…

We picked up Vita this morning and my prediction of a grumpy lass who just wanted to sleep when she got home was accurate.  Once rested she said she had a great time.  She made a t-shirt necklace, danced to the Wii, ate tons of food and spent time with her best friend.  After a restless night of meowing, Georgie was most relieved to have her back and promptly crawled in bed beside her.

I wonder…

The middle one is at a sleepover tonight.  She packed all her essential toys and after searching through her overnight bag full of dolls, bracelets, art supplies and snacks I had to remind her to pack a change of clothes.  We will pick her up in the morning.  Both of the kids mentioned that they missed her.  The house is quiet now and all are asleep.  I wonder if she is still awake (she’s my night owl), I wonder if she had fun, I wonder if they have left a night-light on for her (she doesn’t sleep well in the dark).  I can’t wait to ask her how it went and what they did.  She will probably be too tired and maybe even a little grumpy in the morning to talk.  Georgie misses her, she has stayed in her room all day.  I miss her.

Jingle Bell Run

On Saturday morning Ben and the girls ran the 5K Jingle Bell Run for Arthritis.  Despite a cold and rainy run they had a lot of fun and managed to run a great race.  This was the girls’ first 5K race.  Vita Rose’s time was 32:25 and Isabella’s was 37:17.  I was so proud of them.  They ran at their own pace and ran individual races.  Unfortunately I missed the photo of Isabella crossing the finish line.  I snapped the photo and my screen said media card full.  I was furious!  I usually always delete the photos from the card after I back them up on the computer, turns out I grabbed a really old card and it was pretty full.  I am hoping that once the race day photos are available I can order one of Isabella.
